About us

The Language Centre was established in 2007 at the Faculty of Humanities to respond to the increasing demand on language learning from all University faculties. The main mission of the centre is to provide language learning opportunities to all students, staff of the University and wider public. The Language Centre meets this challenge of quantity and quality - providing an increased quantity of learners with diverse needs with quality education, and maintaining excellence.

Since its inception, the Language Centre has been working on applying new technologies to language learning and teaching throughout the university. Since then the Centre has successfully worked with individual as well as corporate clients and has established itself as an authority among prospective learners of foreign languages.

It also strives to meet an increasing demand of the improvement of language teaching, supported by quality assurance mechanisms, continuing professional development and the sharing of good practice.

One of the most important characteristics of our centre is that its function goes beyond being a simple educational centre. The success of the centre is ensured by the harmonious interaction between our teachers and students, based on mutual respect.

The Centre employs over 170 highly qualified teachers, holders of a wide range of professional qualifications. The centre provides a warm, professional learning environment with well-trained and qualified teaching staff, high quality and personalized service in the tuition, up-dated methodology, flexibility and personalized attention. All these mean that we ensure your satisfaction through quality commitments and continuous advancements.

A well-qualified and strongly supportive staff of teachers of the Centre is deeply committed to ensuring the students’ high-level proficiency in language competence and promoting their independent work by focusing on the main components of language learning and creating a cozy classroom atmosphere in which each student is given an equal opportunity to master the language.
