TEMPUS-European Union’s programme
Tempus-ი ევროგაერთიანების პროგრამაა, რომლის მიზანია უმაღლესი განათლების რეფორმის ხელშეწყობა და თანამშრომლობის განვითარება ევროკავშირის პარტნიორ ქვეყნებში. პროგრამა შეიქმნა 1990 წელს, ბერლინის კედლის დაცემის შემდეგ და მოიცავს დასავლეთ ბალკანეთის, აღმოსავლეთ ევროპის, ცენტრალური აზიის, ჩრდილოეთ აფრიკისა და ახლო აღმოსავლეთის 27 ქვეყანას.
«Tempus»-ი ითვალისწინებს პარტნიორი ქვეყნების უმაღლესი სასწავლებლების ევროპულ უნივერსიტეტებთან თანამშრომლობას, რომელიც თავის მხრივ გულისხმობს ევროპული სტანდარტების დანერგვას, თანამედროვე სასწავლო პროგრამების შემუშავებას, უახლესი სასწავლო ლიტერატურით მომარაგებას, კვალიფიკაციის ამაღლებას, სტუდენტთა და აკადემიური პერსონალის მობილობას, უნივერსიტეტების მენეჯმენტის გაუმჯობესებას, საუნივერსიტეტო რეფორმას, ახალი ინფორმაციული ტექნოლოგიების დანერგვასა და განვითარებას, უნივერსიტეტის ბაზაზე არააკადემიური კადრების მომზადებას და სხვა აქტივობებს.

Tempus (The Trans-European mobility scheme for university studies) supports the modernisation of higher education and creates an area of co-operation in countries surrounding the EU. Established in 1990 after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the scheme now covers 27 countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.
Tempus considers the cooperation of the academies of the partner-countries with European universities, that is based on sharing of experience in the field of European standards for education, elaboration of educational agendas and programmes that fits the market economy, provision of modern literature, trainings for the rising the level of teaching skills, students` study abroad, improvement of the universities` management, university reform, application and development of new informational technologies, with preparation of non-academic staff at the university basis.
Tempus is being implemented by means of two types of grant:
1.Joint European Project (JEP)
2.Structural Measures (SM)
